If you’ve thought about orthodontic treatment for you or your child, you’ve probably heard of Invisalign.
At Paradigm Orthodontics, we get tons of questions from patients about Invisalign. What is it? Will it work for me? Why does it cost so much? Well, I’m here to help answer those questions, and clear the air with respect to the cutting edge world of Invisalign treatment!
Question 1: What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a modern, digitally-focused orthodontic treatment. If traditional braces are the cassette tape technology in orthodontics, Invisalign is the iPod. Instead of metal braces and wires that move your teeth, Invisalign consists of a series of clear, virtually invisible trays that surround your teeth and move them bit by bit to help you achieve your best smile. Many patients report that they are more convenient, comfortable, and easier to clean than traditional braces, so it’s no wonder it’s become such a popular option!
Question 2: Will Invisalign work for me?
Short answer: probably! As the aligner technology improves year after year, more and more patients are becoming candidates for Invisalign treatment. Today, the majority of cases that can be treated with regular braces can also be treated with Invisalign.
Question 3: How much does it cost?
Traditionally, Invisalign treatment has come with a big up-charge over regular braces. At Paradigm, we are pleased to offer Invisalign at the same fee as regular braces – at no up-charge! We also offer flexible, interest-free payment plans to suit any budget.
Question 4: How long does Invisalign treatment take?
In most cases, Invisalign treatment takes the same amount of time as traditional braces. Sometimes even less!
Question 5: What is the first step?
If you are interested in Invisalign treatment, the first step is to scan your teeth using our state-of-the-art iTero digital scanner. In minutes, we can construct a full digital model of your teeth, which we can use to show you a before and after projection of your smile. The best part is, this awesome technology has made goopy impressions a thing of the past!
Question 6: Who is able to provide Invisalign treatment?
Just like regular braces, orthodontists as well as general dentists are able to provide Invisalign treatment. Dr. Emanuele has three additional years and thousands of hours of study in learning how to to be an expert in moving teeth – both with braces and with Invisalign. While the simplest, most straight-forward cases can be treated by either a general dentist or an orthodontist, anything beyond that is best managed by a board-certified orthodontic specialist.
Hopefully that addressed some of the questions you’ve had about Invisalign treatment. As always, consultations at Paradigm are 100% free, so get in touch to determine if Invisalign is the right treatment for you. Cheers!
